When we were all driven online in March 2020 to protect ourselves and our neighbors suddenly our lives inside our digital communities were completely altered.
What had been a nice, usually welcome, way to connect with people suddenly became our only way to safely connect with friends and relatives.
Suddenly all these platforms that were amusing or entertaining became essential. And repeated daily use began to show the places of wear and tear. Perhaps Facebook wasn’t the nice place you’ve been thinking it had been when you’d only been there a few minutes a day. Perhaps the Meta product Instagram became overwhelming. Perhaps Swarm turned into a place that you could check in in your bedroom and your bathroom as two new places to be the mayor of.
Things are different now. We’ve found new places to play. And discovered we didn’t really need those other places anyway.
